Aaron Rodgers Chooses Legal Action of Wisconsin to Receive $50,000 Green Bay Packers Donation
Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has selected Legal Action of Wisconsin to receive a $50,000 donation from the Packers as part of the NFL players’ community action initiative to support social justice causes. The gift was presented on behalf of Rodgers by Packers President Mark Murphy.
Rodgers “is really excited about Legal Action Wisconsin,” Murphy said. “He knows there’s a real need across the state among people who need legal services but can’t afford it.”
The gift was presented to Legal Action’s Executive Director David Pifer, Board of Directors President Ben Obregon, and Green Bay Office Managing Attorney Andrea Gage-Michaels.
“Civil legal problems are exactly the barriers to opportunity that the Packers players initiative aims to address.” Gage-Michaels said. “Our clients work hard, but ordinary life problems can get in the way and become major civil legal problems that can only be solved by lawyers.”
Legal Action is one of three WEJF member legal services organizations. The firm serves 39 counties, with a staff of 80 lawyers and 46 support staff, working with people facing evictions, homelessness, child custody, veterans’ benefits, consumer scams, human trafficking, and elder abuse.
